That gritty 2015 documentary takes a close look at the cartels fueling the drug problem in the U.S. and Mexico -- and how vigilante groups on each side are combating them. The film is rated R and has a runtime of an hour and 40 minutes.
"To say that (Dirctor Matthew) Heineman has been granted remarkable access to their activities would be an understatement -- more than once, his camera is present when gunfire breaks out, and he charges ahead anyway, intent on capturing whatever goes down," the A.V. Club notes.
On Tuesday, July 19, the library will screen "45 Years," a British romantic drama. As a couple prepares for a 45th wedding anniversary celebration, a revelation about a former flame overshadows the planning and calls things into question.
This R-rated film, starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay, is one hour and 35 minutes long.
Finally, on Tuesday, July 26, comes "Where to Invade Next," filmmaker Michael Moore's latest offering. In this playful documentary, Moore travels Europe and examines how European countries deal with a variety of issues, from work and education to food and drugs.
"There’s something undeniably sharp and buoyant about Moore’s globe-trotting, grass-is-greener approach that compels indulgence and attention," a Variety review notes. This movie has a runtime of two hours and is also rated R.
